Although, as a media platform, AfreecaTV inflicts very little environmental damage in the form of direct emissions of greenhouse gases or waste, we always seek to minimize environmental and climate-related risks and manage them efficiently through systematic environmental management. We work to meet the expectations of our stakeholders and fulfill our corporate social responsibility by implementing a variety of initiatives and programs to raise environmental awareness across our business. We are also playing a leading role in fostering an environmentally conscious culture throughout society through media content that leverages our social influence.
In-house Activities for Environmental Management
Energy Conservation Activities
AfreecaTV encourages its members to engage in energy conservation activities in their daily lives for efficient energy use. For example, we run various campaigns to help our members conserve energy when using computers and servers, during development, and at work by developing energy technology. As a result, electricity use per employee at the Pangyo HQ decreased by 11.2% (136 kwh) YoY in 2019 and by a further 7.67% (126 kwh) YoY in 2020. This positive trend was maintained at a similar level (128 kwh) for 2021. We will work to create a sustainable business environment through various efforts to reduce energy consumption such as running campaigns, optimizing systems, and developing technologies.

Promotion of Environmental Initiatives
AfreecaTV plans and implements environmental publicity campaigns to highlight the importance of environmental protection. We reduce the use of disposables that impact the global environment and promote an in-house mood that encourages the utilization of reusables and other substitutes. When replacing electrical and other office fixtures, we upgrade it to eco-friendly products, which shows our commitment to eco-friendliness. We prevent unnecessary energy usage by switching off lights and unplugging devices that are not in use. As such, we have focused on raising employees' awareness in their daily lives to build an environmental culture. AfreecaTV will continue to promote various eco-friendly activities to encourage our employees to join hands and raise environmental awareness.
Environment-Oriented Content
In order to leverage the influence of BJs on our media platform, we work with platform participants to produce environmentally relevant content to raise awareness of climate change. We identify and responding efficiently to rapidly changing climate and environmental issues.
Specifically, we encourage volunteers for the environment with our BJ Volunteer Corps. Some recent campaigns include Hangang Ecological Park Keeper, Ground Mural Painting, and Nanji Ecosystem Keeper. We report the progress of these campaigns through content that can also encourage the participation of users. AfreecaTV will fulfill its corporate social responsibility and strive for sustainable environmental conservation.
