SOOP promotes sustainable growth through an organizational culture where all employees with diverse backgrounds and values are respected. The company strictly prohibits discrimination based on gender, age, origin, and physical condition and complies with the Labor Standards Act and related laws and regulations. In new recruitment, we are expanding socially equitable recruitment to include people with disabilities, national veterans, graduates of local schools, and the socially disadvantaged, and we are also providing more opportunities for contract employees to change their positions to regular employees so that all employees can be fairly evaluated based on their capabilities.
Supporting the Growth of Female Employees
SOOP is supporting the quantitative and qualitative growth of female employees to strengthen gender diversity in our workforce. Our female workforce has grown steadily over the past three years, and as of 2023, the percentage of female senior management positions(team leader and above) is 17% of all senior management positions. We are actively listening to the feedback and suggestions of our female managers to further increase the percentage of women in managerial positions, and we strive to create an environment where individuals are free to work and contribute to the organization based on their own capabilities.
Hiring People with Disabilities
SOOP is committed to providing a wide range of opportunities for job seekers with disabilities, and in 2023, we hired five people with disabilities. They work in a variety of departments and areas and contribute to a caring and inclusive team atmosphere where employees with and without disabilities work together. In the future, SOOP plans to provide more opportunities for job seekers with disabilities, contributing to job creation and expanding diversity and inclusion in the organization.
Maternity Protection System
SOOP supports female employees and the birth of new life by providing support parental leave throughout pregnancy with the Maternity Protection System. Female employees are entitled to one health leave per month before giving birth, as well as five days of fertility treatment leave per year for women and three days per year for men.
We support prenatal check-up leave during pregnancy, and women who are between 12 and 36 weeks pregnant are eligible for a two-hour reduction in work hours each day. Women who are pregnant are also eligible to change their work start and end times and are entitled to a total of 90 days of pre- and postnatal leave. We want to make this the safest and healthiest time possible for our members who are starting a new family.
After childbirth, female employees raising infants under one year old are provided with 30 minutes of paid parenting time twice daily to support the time needed for breastfeeding and infant care. We also offer a reduced work schedule for parents raising children up to the age of eight or under the second grade of elementary school, and male employees are provided with parental leave based on the number of children they have through the Father Parental Leave Bonus Program.
