SOOP ESG2023

SOOP executed an MOU with the Small and Medium Business Distribution Center for the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) to support their production and operation of live commerce content, including virtual live commerce, and to enable them to sell their products on our media commerce platform.

SOOP provided quality corporate information to investors through various IR activities, such as active disclosures in both Korean and English, and quarterly live conference calls. In recognition of our efforts, SOOP was selected as the 'Excellent IR Activities Company' at the '2022 Korea IR Awards' of the Korea Exchange.

Director Ji-Yeon Kim, responsible for SOOP’s IR activities, has actively and effectively built and strengthened trust between SOOP and its shareholders, investors and the market. For her achievements, Director Kim won the ‘Best IRO Award’ given to the best IR executive at the ‘2023 Korea IR Awards’ hosted by the Korea Investor Relations Service.

Throughout 2023, SOOP has actively carried out community impact activities with streamers and donated a portion of the proceeds from live commerce to institutions or organizations in need. In addition, despite not being required to disclose non-financial information, SOOP has conducted various ESG management activities, such as publishing an ESG report every year to transparently disclose its management performance. In recognition of these contributions, SOOP was awarded the ‘ESG Management Award’ at the 15th Korea KOSDAQ Awards Ceremony hosted by the KOSDAQ Listed Companies Association.

From 2021 to 2023, SOOP made efforts in various ways to protect youth and create a culture of healthy content, including cooperating in self-regulation for youth protection, providing training for youth protection workers, and conducting campaigns to eradicate harmful media for youth. SOOP received the ‘Award from Minister of Gender Equality and Family for Meritorious Contribution to Youth Protection’ for its contribution to self-regulation of environment media harmful to youth.

At its shareholders’ meeting held on March 29, 2024, SOOP reorganized its corporate governance structure to enhance corporate value, appointed a new independent director and established an Audit Committee. The new independent director, Soo-Yeun Lim, is the first female independent director of SOOP and an expert in accounting and finance. The Audit Committee was established not only to prevent corruption and fraud but also to enhance the professionalism, reliability, and transparency of financial statements and disclosures.
